What This Week: November 28
I’m at a loss for words. We are fast approaching December, and I’m still scratching my head wondering where Fall went? Christmas is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been busy shopping for all the things. I guess I should start buying gifts for other people, too. 😜 Between marathon shopping sprees I’ve managed to set aside some time for reading. Find out what I’m reading this week in this edition of What This Week: November 28.

What This Week: Reading
I’ve been hard a work catching up on advanced reader copies the past few weeks, and this week is no different! Witcha Gonna Do, a brand new witchy romcom, publishes on December 6, the last of my ARCs to publish this year. I’m planning to start this one asap, just in time for a pub date review. Stay tuned to find out if this witchy read gets my stamp of approval.
I recently shared that I won a giveaway of Flight, a brand new holiday fiction by Lynn Steger Strong. Now that we’re headed into December, I think this one will rise to the top of my holiday reading list. I also hope to kick off my holiday reading with a tearjerker, and from all accounts on Booksta, One Last Gift by Emily Stone is sure to get the water works flowing.
Last and certainly not least, I was gifted an advanced listener copy of Shrines of Gaeity, the latest historical fiction by Kate Atkinson. Reviews so far have been promising, so I’m eager to dive into this audiobook very soon. Right now I’m wrapping up Mercury Pictures Presents, but all good things must come to an end. Luckily Shrines is waiting in the wings to soften the blow of yet another great book coming to an end.

What This Week: Watching
It’s officially Christmas season, so I’m off to the races with holiday films. My holiday watch party started off with one of my all time favorites: Meet Me in St Louis. Now it might not seem like a Christmas film to most, but the scene of Judy Garland singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” should dissuade any nonbelievers. It’s powerful enough to bring a tear to the eye of just about any Grinch. While I’m not a huge fan of musicals, there’s something about a holiday musical that tugs right at the old heart strings. Check out the famous scene of Judy stealing the hearts of every American below!

What This Week: Shopping
Oh my, have I been shopping! Between crazy good deals on Bath & Body Works (a favorite source of gifts for my staff), I’ve also taken advantage of deals on Amazon, Apple, Bumble & Bumble, and Oliver Logan. I’m sharing some of my favorite purchases with you just in case you’re in the market for similar buys!
Up first is the Oliver Logan sale! I’ve had my eye on Oliver Logan jeans for a while, but when I ordered some earlier this year they weren’t the right fit. My short-AF torso isn’t built for high rise jeans, and my muffin top makes low rise look positively stay puft. But finding jeans for my 40+ year-old body isn’t easy, so I thought I’d give them another try when I saw the 30% off sitewide sale. Luckily, they had some mid-rise options that will probably be just right for my tiny torso. Here’s a sneak peak of my order!
My hair is getting longer, and that means it’s harder to get it to curl. The longer it gets, the more I have to style it, which means I need good styling tools and products. I’ve had my eye on the L’Ange Le Volume 60mm 2-in-1 Titanium Brush Dryer for a while, so when I saw it on sale I pounced. I’m already IN LOVE with this tool, which makes styling my fine hair super easy and quick. Take a peak at the images of before and after below! I used the brush dryer on one side of my air-dried mop to demonstrate how easy it is to get sleek locks with just a few swipes!
